The MJPRU was established in 1975 as an affiliating University. Its status was upgraded to an affiliating-cum-residential university in 1985 when four teaching Departments were established in the campus. In 1987 three more Departments were added. In August 1997 Rohilkhand University was renamed as Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University. The University has taken an overall perspective of development plan and thereby modified University status by including new Faculties of Engineering and Technology, Management, Applied Sciences, Education and Allied Sciences etc. The courses offered by the university are M.A, M.phil, B.Tech, M.Sc, M.B.A, M.Pharm, M.C.A, LLM, MSW, MRDM, B.Ed, B.Pharm, B.H.M.C.T and other diploma courses for various disciples.

The students who will be failed in the b.se examinations or getting fewer marks in the examinations can apply fo the re-evaluation process. The re-evaluation is the process of re-correcting the answer sheet. The candidate answer sheet appeared for the re-evaluation will be worth for the extra marks is updated by the officials. The application fee of the re-evaluation is slightly higher than the supply application fee.
